EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN
The Episcopal Church Women's (ECW) outreach ministry includes the Salvation Army, P.A.R.C., Jackson-Feild Home, the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief, H.E.R. Shelter, Camp Wakonda and SHARE. Their annual Red Door Sale benefits the community with low cost clothing and other articles. Monthly meetings are held.
THE NEXT ECW MEETING will be in September.
MINISTERING TO SENIORS
Four lay ministers conduct monthly prayer and song services for about 40 residents at Autumn Care including a Christmas Party in conjunction with the Episcopal Church Women. Every second Tuesday, at 10:00 am.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
The Prayer Shawl Group is doing many new things. At least 40 blessed prayer shawls have already been given to people on the prayer list and to others. Also we have given pocket prayer shawls to our military fighting overseas. And a number of prayer shawls have been donated to Sentara’s Hospice program. We are now making hats and scarves for the homeless in Portsmouth.
Do you like to knit or crochet? Want to learn how? Lessons are available.
We invite you to join us on Tuesday mornings, 10:00 am, in the Jeff Jones Room. Contact Carolyn Holmes.
